On Saturday, March 19, 2011, members of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office participated in “Tips For Cops” to benefit the Special Olympics. CCSO employees partnered with Applebee’s of Lake City to raise money for a great organization. The four hour event raised $1,100.00 and additional donations are still coming in.
Sheriff Mark Hunter acted as host, greeting diners as they entered the restaurant. Sheriff’s Office employees waited on tables. The volunteer employees were: Captain David Wingate, Corporal Tip Tyler, Sgt Mike Gordon, Detective Debbie Marzsalek, Records Clerks Yvette Bal and Ellen Price and Victim Witness Advocate Erica Coles.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Applebee’s for their gracious involvement in this years program. A special thanks is also given to the families, residents and visitors to Applebees that made this campaign such a success.
