On Monday, January 4, 2010, a Columbia County man was arrested for burglarizing a home. At approximately 1:00 a.m., the suspect knocked on the door of the victim’s residence. The suspect requested to speak with a female that lived at the home.
The victim told the suspect that she was sleeping and then closed the door. The suspect then kicked in the front door and entered the home. The victim attempted to restrain the suspect but the suspect placed the victim in a headlock. The victim was able to break free from the suspect. The suspect fled the home.
Columbia County Sheriff’s Deputies were able to locate an address that the suspect possibly fled to. Deputies located the suspect hiding in a closet. The suspect was arrested without further incident and transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility for booking.
